Member Agreement

GENERAL

It is the mission of The Space on Main to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, the arts, education, health, and recreation in order to increase opportunity for personal and collective growth in the Cohase Region of Vermont and New Hampshire by providing a creative facility with access to affordable equipment, work spaces, and classes. It is our goal to ensure prosperity of our community by leveraging talent in the region by creating pathways to outside individuals, services, and technologies. The organization is administered by Monique Priestley.

Member Services
By signing up as a member of The Space On Main you will have access to shared work spaces and the following benefits in accordance with your membership:

  • Access to shared office space.
  • 50/50 Fiber Internet (both wireless and wired options).
  • Coffee equipment, water, and shared refrigerator space.
  • A listing on and access to the member, company, and job directories.
  • Reservable rooms. These rooms can be reserved in advance, or checked out for 15 minutes at a time, when there is no standing reservation in place. This includes the conference room and event space.
  • Discounts on SOM-sponsored trainings and classes and access to SOM Slack and Facebook groups.
  • Timed access to the building and specific rooms.

Group Events
The Event Space, Conference Room, and Makerspace rooms are not included in any membership and can be rented by the hour by using the online reservation calendar. Event hosts and attendees are expected to use the reserved area only and will arrive and leave depending on date and time of reservation.

Payments
Membership terms start the day of purchase. This may include optional variable charges such as secure storage rental.
Memberships are paid online and automatically renewed.
Payment is required at the beginning of each membership term.
Room rentals are paid online and charged at the time of reservation.
Refunds will not be issued on processed payments.

Facility Lockup Agreement
Some memberships allow after hours access to the building. This will require agreeing to a facility lockup agreement and a walkthrough of the process prior to access being granted 24/7 membership access.

Responsibilities
You will make sure that your attendees/guests are let in and leave once your event is complete.
You will clean up after your event, leaving The Space in the condition that it was found.
You will not exceed room capacity: Event Space (50), Conference Room (15), Makerspace (10), Building (200).

Membership Levels
Members may select the membership type that best suits their needs. Membership level benefits and price may be changed at the discretion of The Space On Main. The following types of memberships are currently available to those who wish to use The Space On Main;
a. Community Member (Free. Limited.) Member may access The Space On Main’s online membership portal to make room reservations.
b. Work Week ($100/month.) Member may access The Space On Main Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Members at this level must leave The Space On Main after 5:00pm. Included at this level is access to shared space, shared desk usage, Internet access, and timed door entry.
c. Off Hours ($100/month.) Member may access The Space On Main Monday through Friday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday through Sunday 9:00am to 9:00pm. Members at this level must leave The Space On Main after 9:00pm. Included at this level is access to shared space, shared desk usage, Internet access, and timed door entry.
d. All-Access ($150/month.) Members at this level may access The Space On Main at any time. Includes access to shared space, shared desk usage, Internet access, and timed door entry.
e. Dedicated Desk ($250/month.) Members at this level may access The Space On Main at any time. Includes access to a dedicated desk in shared space, Internet access, and timed door entry.
f. Day Tripper (Drop-In, $35 per day.) Users may purchase a day pass allowing them access to The Space On Main for one calendar day, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Includes access to shared space, Internet access, and timed door entry.
g. Sustaining Rock Star! ($50/month.) Members at this level may access The Space On Main 1 day per month (at any time of day) using a punch pass. Includes access to shared space, shared desk usage, Internet access, and timed door entry. Punches to not accrue month to month.
h. Sponsorships (6-12 months, pricing varies.) Member may access The Space On Main Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Members at this level must leave The Space On Main after 5:00pm. Included at this level is access to shared space, shared desk usage, Internet access, and timed door entry.
NOTES: All paid memberships include a listing on and access to the member directory, job board, and company directory; discounts on SOM-sponsored trainings and classes; and access to SOM Slack and Facebook groups. Locking/Security. Members with 24/7 access may be required to set/reset the security system upon entering or leaving the Space On Main. An extra fee may be charged for the access fob to unlock the building after business hours, and members with 24/7 access shall pay a fee of $100 if they don’t return the fob upon cancelation or downgrading of membership.

Member Benefits
All Members will have access member benefits including but not limited to: guest sign-in, water, free access to select The Space On Main sponsored functions, internet usage, utilities and building services, cleaning services, trash removal, and use of kitchen.

The Space On Main will make reasonable efforts to provide these benefits at all listed times, however, The Space On Main cannot guarantee that all benefits will be available at all times.

These benefits are shared resources that can be used by members for free for reasonable normal usage. All use of any shared resources must be reasonable. What is reasonable use is at the sole discretion of The Space On Main staff. If any staff notice that these resources are being abused or used beyond what we consider reasonable normal use, we reserve the right to restrict Users use of them or, if we have provided Users notice that Users use exceeds “normal use” and such excessive use continues after that notice, to terminate Users Membership and ban Users from access to The Space On Main.

Note: As of a software update in 2020, members are required to accept updated Terms of Use in order to access The Space On Main through the Proximity Mobile application.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

The Space On Main does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

PRIVACY POLICY

Your use of this Site and our member’s portal is governed by The Space On Main, Inc. Privacy Policy.

The Space On Main is committed to protecting your privacy. To make your experience at The Space On Main site and member’s portal site on the internet more convenient, we may gather information from you. We maintain the privacy of your information by using security technologies, and adhere to policies that prevent unauthorized use of your personal information.

We collect information on which portions of our website visitors access or visit. We also collect information volunteered by visitors during product, membership and/or mailing list registrations. The information collected from our online forms will be used for internal business purposes, such as providing feedback to the visitor regarding product or financial information or technical support, and in funding/grant applications. No individual identifiable information will be shared with outside entities.

We monitor and track usage of our website, viewing and traffic patterns, customer behavior, and other similar information. We compile this information into a statistical aggregate. We use this aggregate information, as well as your personal information, for internal business and administrative purposes, including the improvement of our website, our operations, and our customer service.

Protecting Your Privacy
We may share aggregate information about website usage and traffic patterns, stripped of any individual identifiable information, to third-parties to comply with various reporting obligations and for business or marketing purposes.

Use of Cookies
Cookies are pieces of information that are stored on your computer and used for record keeping purposes. We may use cookies to make visiting and using our website easier. Cookies can help us see which parts of our website are the most or least popular and provide us with direction to improve our customers’ online experience. We do not and will not use cookies to retrieve personal information about you from your computer.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post these changes so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone. COVID POLICY

PUBLIC EVENTS, GROUP GATHERINGS & ROOM RENTALS COVID-19 Policy Update:

The safety of our members, visitors, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. Attendees are expected to follow CDC COVID precautions. Proof of vaccination and/or negative tests are no longer required for entry. Masking is welcome and encouraged. If you have symptoms of COVID, a cold, flu, or other virus, please stay home.
