GENERAL
What is The Space On Main?
The Space On Main is a 7,000 sq ft nonprofit community-based coworking, maker, conference, event, and gallery space in the heart of the VT/NH Cohase Region (Northern Upper Valley) fostering entrepreneurship, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
What is coworking?
“Coworking is about creating a better place to work, and, as a result, a better way to work. Coworking spaces provide more than just office space. They are community centers, friendly gathering places, think tanks. When you rent a desk or an office, you gain coworkers to bounce ideas off and that support you professionally in a way that you can’t find working from home or in the corporate office. Coworking connects you to a global network of professional peers.” -Jamie Orr, Founder of Tahoe Mountain Lab
Can I drop in or schedule an appointment?
While we typically have someone present during typical work hours, we ask that you get in touch ahead of time to schedule an appointment. We have forms available for various needs:
Schedule a tour | Apply to become a member | Request to rent a room to host an event or teach a class
Many of our members are often in the middle of conference calls or meetings (including our admin), and scheduling allows us to dedicate time to focus on any questions that you might have while not disrupting others.
Can I purchase a gift certificate for myself or someone else?
Yes! We have a variety of options available on the Gift Certificates page. Please contact us to discuss if you need a custom purchase (such as 4 or 5 months instead of 3 or 6).
Can I purchase tshirts and other swag?
Yes! Visit our Store page. Proceeds from Teespring come back directly to The Space.
How do I become a member?
Easy! Start by filling out the membership application!
Should I wait until the 1st of the month to join?
Nope! Recurring billing starts from the date you join so you can start anytime!
Do you have day passes?
Yes, we have a day pass membership which acts like a punch card that can be expanded by purchasing additional days. Start by filling out the membership application. This membership is M–F 9–5 and does not include access to the makerspace.
How do I get in?
Keys, reservations, etc. can be accessed using your mobile web browser (Keys when logged in), Proximity Mobile iOS app, or Proximity Mobile Android app.
I don’t have a credit card, can I pay by electronic check?
Yes, when logged in, click on your profile picture, select Payment Sources, and Add Bank Account.
Do I have to sign a lease agreement?
Nope! You simply fill out the membership application and agree to our Terms of Use.
What should I bring to work at The Space?
Bring your laptop, files, headphones, and favorite coffee. We provide the WiFi, desk space, and coffee-making devices.
Is there parking?
Yes! If you’re coming in for the day, please try to use the public parking lots at either end of Main Street, as seen in this Google Map. All Main Street parking has a two-hour limit (particularly important in the winter for plowing). If you’re coming in for a few hours or meeting a client, there is parking on Main Street right in front of The Space.
Can I reserve a room/host an event if I’m not a member? How?
Yes! Start by taking a look at the spaces we offer and then fill out this form to let us know what you’re thinking.
Are your events for your members only?
No, these vary depending on who is putting on the event. Check the calendar listings for more information.
Can guests visit me?
Yes, of course. Please keep your visits to 3 hours maximum or have you guest pick up a Day Pass. Have them click the I’m Here link in the upper right hand corner of The Space’s website or text you so you can let them in.
Can I bring my pets or kids while I work?
We totally understand, but in the interest of maintaining a professional environment for all members and guests, we ask that you leave your loved ones at home.
